WHEN AND WHERE 

 

The festival will take place on 22 and 23 September 2022 in Vaartkapoen (VK).

 

THE SELECTION JURY

 

The jury is composed of 12 programmers (F/X): 4 from the Flemish community, 4 from the French-speaking community of Belgium and 4 international.

Our jury wants to discover and highlight all artists who want to reach a wider audience and who have the professional standards to start a tour.

We welcome proposals from all horizons and in particular those that increase the diversity of the international music scene, whether on a cultural or regional level.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • The project is led by a woman or a person from a gender minority (frontstage) [or more!]

  • The project is original in its musical and stage offer.

  • The project has released an EP or an album in the past or has a forthcoming release (except DJ)

 

THE CONDITIONS

 

  • Showcases last 45 minutes; DJ sets last 1 hour.

  • The band is available on September 22nd and 23rd.

  • The fee is set at 250€/performer + 1 crew (technician or tour manager).

  • The deadline to send your proposal is May 1st 2022 at 23:59.

The selection jury 2022

She is a current music programmer at Eden charleroi, the cultural centre of Charleroi. Nahtalie is also the co-founder of the Deep in the wood festival.

She is the director of Far East Prod which includes the Dérives Festival, Derives studio and Womenbeats. She is also a programmer at Mains d'oeuvres.

She is a project manager and programmer at Trix online in Antwerp, a renowned music centre. She is passionate about music, art and culture

She is a programmer at Ancienne Belgique, a famous concert hall in the center of Brussels.

She is a programmer at Atelier210, a multidisciplinary cultural space in Etterbeek. She is also co-founder of the feminist collective Poxcat_collective. In the duo "Capello", in her solo project Elfo Van de Velde, or as keyboardist and DJ as DJ Hyppocampo

She is a programmer at the "Les femme s'en melent" festival. She also participated in the creation of an action plan for gender equality in contemporary music: "Les Femmes S'engagent"

She works for the MJ Carpe Diem and has organised a music festival with them. She works with young people to propose festive, colourful, eclectic and international line-ups. She is also the founder of “J’veux du soleil” festival.

She is a DJ, music producer, sound designer and performer. She is also a programmer at Not your techno, a platform that puts forward diverse and upcoming talent in electronic music, with a focus on female-identifying, queer and POC artists.

Cleo Janse is a programmer at Handelsbeurs Concert Hall in Gent. She was a touring musician with The Bony King of Nowhere for 10 years, worked as a tour & production manager in the past, and organizes the monthly Bright Lights Sessions in Gent.

Julie is the pulse of Beats ‘n’ Roots. She made a name for herself through her work with Senegalese artitsts from the avant-garde scene. With her strong personality and determination, she is always one step ahead! She’s our artist manager and artistic director of the Bru·X·elles Festival.

Rrita is a programmer at VK concerts, the venue for the festival and its launch party. She is also the founder of 54soundsystem and an artist at culteagency.

Josefien van Poppel is a promoter at Amsterdam based venue Cinetol. She co-founded a network of music professionals to support, discuss and improve matters concerning diversity & inclusion in the local music industry.
